The Omega Speedmaster, also known as the legendary “Moonwatch”, is one of the most iconic and distinguished collections ever made. It is best known for its work with NASA as the officially sanctioned chronograph for use in space, but it wasn't originally built with spaceflight in mind. Instead, it was launched in 1957 with sportsmen and drivers as the target audience. One of the very first of the famous Speedy editions was 1959's CK2998. New for 2016, Omega has reimagined this glorious piece of history for today's horological environment, recreating beloved elements such as the lollipop seconds hand, alpha hands on subdials, and the base-1000 bezel. But the design has also evolved with a gorgeous blue colour scheme, cutting-edge materials and the superb calibre 1861. This Omega Speedmaster CK2998 311.33.40.30.02.001 has a Silver Baton dial and a Leather strap.
