The story of Panerai Luminor watches begins in 1949 when a patent was created for the luminous substance which would eventually be used to create both the Luminor and Radiomir diving watches. Today Panerai’s Luminor watches have received a contemporary upgrade to bring them into the 21st century, however, they have still retained the characteristics of the original design which have made the Luminor an icon in luxury sports watchmaking. Originally designed for the commandos of the Italian Navy, the Luminor collection from is iconic and has been reinvented in many ways, whilst maintaining the traditional features that made the range so famous such as the crown-protecting bridge and cushion shaped case.
