Both watches were based on the shape of portholes; the Nautilus' was particularly accentuated by the distinctive hinges (“ears”) flanking the case, with exposed screws to hold down the oversize bezel. This particular model enhances the unusual case shape with Roman numerals that exaggerate the angles of the dial. The minimalist power reserve at 12 o'clock only adds to the visual impact.
