Tag Heuer has a rich sporting heritage dating back to the late 19th century when it made stop watches. The first Carrera model, designed by the brand founder Jack Heuer himself, was a chronograph targeted at the motorsports clientele, and it has since gone on to become one of the brand’s best-known series, with perhaps only the square-cased Monaco being as recognisable. This limited edition Carrera however, celebrates not motor-racing but the greatest boxer in the history of the sport – the legendary Muhammad Ali. In sporty stainless steel, this watch bears the boxer’s signature on the dial, which sits above a discreet date aperture at 6 o’clock. Completing the boxing theme, a red track ring counts 15 rounds of three minutes, with black intervals to display the recovery periods between rounds. It’s powered by a Calibre 5 automatic movement that provides a 38-hour power reserve and is water resistant up to 100 metres.
